Our overseas Nick Kelly returned to New Zealand early in the week to start pre-season with his new team Wellington following a move from Otago.
For the Hares in Home Counties competitions, Nick scored just shy of 1000 runs. In his first 2 games for the club, Nick scored a 100 in both innings ensuring Harefield progressed to the Home Counties T20 finals day. Following this impressive start in league cricket, Nick scored an equally impressive 758 runs @ 47.38, including a century against Tring and 5 other scores of 50 plus. Nick was a huge part of why the 1s have been so successful this year, scoring quickly and allowing the rest of the batting lineup to get themselves in. Along with his batting exploits, Nick took 12 league catches, a 5-wicket haul in the 2nd T20 game mentioned early, and took 2 crucial wickets in an away win at Chesham when they were looking to bat out for the draw. The club would like to thank Nick for his effort and commitment, as well as his professionalism this summer. We hope to see him back in a Harefield shirt next summer for our return to the top level of Premier League cricket, if not we wish him all the best for this winter at Wellington.
