In a year of uncertainty for most of the world's population, televised sport has been a saviour for many people, especially for many of us at HCC, cricket, which is even better when you're personally invested in the performance of some of the teams/players.
So we'd like to take this time to congratulate Chamu on his captaincy exploits in Zimbabwe's recent tour to Pakistan! He may be the 2nd member of his family to captain a national cricket team, but he's the first Harefield player to do so (I think... Custer? Statto?). Although they lost the series, winning the 3rd ODI in a clinical super over performance is a huge feather in the cap of the smaller nation, and hope Cham and the lads continue to do well. From one fabulously talented bloke I'd like to move on to another, even though he never pulled on the Navy and Sky blue, we'd like to congratulate friend of the club Elton Chigumbura on his retirement after a successful international career, as well as being a top bloke, he'll go down as one of the most talented Zim cricketers of his generation, perhaps all time. |
